Shenkar Fund
Founded in 2000, the Shenkar Fund grants scholarships to pupils and students residing in Hadera, Wadi Ara and the nearby area.
The fund was established by the Leo Shenkar family, Mondi, an international Austrian-based company and Hadera Paper.
The scholarships are offered to local young residents excluding employees' family members.
Each year, scholarships amounting to a total value of up to NIS 120 thousand are given to students and special community involvement projects.
The scholarships are distributed to attain the following purposes:
• Gaining a university education alone
• Promoting community involvement projects in the fields of welfare, education, culture, science, sports and the environment.
Below is a list of the special projects that have been awarded a scholarship in the last years:
• Participating in the purchase of computers for the Hadera Youth Center
• Participation in the Beit Eliezer Computer Room
• Computers for the Girls' Center in Umm El Fahm
• Fostering a local youth cultural center located in the neighborhood of Ha'Poel Mizrahi Neve- Haim in Hadera
The annual activity regarding Shenkar Fund scholarships commences each year in the months of December/January.
