Excellence
The Hadera Paper Group sees the protection of the environment as a key factor in its industrial and business activities. Therefore, the Group will continue to invest financial and technological resources in developing this key area, minimizing environmental footprints and in protecting air, water and soil quality for future generations.

Based on this approach, the Group converted its energy generation system to a full natural gas based system for co-generation of steam and electricity. By doing so, the Group’s private industrial plant became the first of its kind in Israel to use natural gas instead of fuel oil. With regards to water recycling and sewage treatment, the Group has developed an innovative technology for sewage purification and betterment that enables its re-use in the production process.
Instead of sending sludge, the industrial waste generated by the production process, to landfills, the Group recycles and converts it to secondary uses in industrial and agricultural products.

By collecting, selecting and recycling paper, cardboard and plastic, the Group has succeeded in establishing a manufacturing line for recycled paper. These activities reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills and contribute to achieving savings in costly land resources as well as reducing soil contamination in the sites and their surroundings.
